Jacob J. Baker
Mr. Baker focuses his practice in all areas of estate planning, probate, trust administration and family law. He counsels clients with respect to asset management, orderly asset transfers, wealth preservation, tax planning and related matters. In his family law practice, Mr. Baker drafts, negotiates and litigates antenuptial and postnuptial agreements, represents clients in complex dissolution proceedings involving asset valuations as well as spousal maintenance, child custody and child support issues. Mr. Baker is a strong believer in Alternative Dispute Resolution, and he is a trained Early Neutral Evaluator in family law cases. He has presided over and settled numerous cases through the Early Neutral Evaluation process and through mediation.
Mr. Baker received his Bachelor of Arts degree from St. John's University, Collegeville, Minnesota in 1997 and his Juris Doctor degree in 2000 from the William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota. Mr. Baker was admitted to the Minnesota Bar in 2000 and the Wisconsin Bar in 2006.
Mr. Baker is a 2003 Leadership Duluth graduate. He is a former officer and served on the Board of Directors of the Duluth Art Institute. He is a member, former officer and serves on the Board of Directors of the Arrowhead Estate Planning Council. Mr. Baker continues to be recognized as a "Rising Star" by Minnesota Law and Politics magazine, an honor given to 2.5% of the attorneys under 40 years old in Minnesota.
