Ms. Kjos practices civil transaction and litigation in the areas of trademark and copyright protection, general business, and family law. 

Ms. Kjos received her B.A. in Theatre Arts with a minor in History from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. She continued her academic career with a graduate degree in Paralegal Studies from Loyola University Chicago and her law degree cum laude from William Mitchell College of Law.  During her law school career, she served as Assistant Editor of the William Mitchell Law Review, and received Second Place Brief in the National BMI/Cardozo Entertainment and Communication Law Moot Court in New York.  Ms. Kjos also externed for Magistrate Judge Franklin L. Noel at the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota, and conducted research for Professor Christina L. Kunz. 

Prior to joining Hanft Fride, Ms. Kjos worked as an intellectual property paralegal in Minnesota and Illinois in the areas of patent, trademark, and copyright prosecution, and studied intellectual property and internet law at the Munich Intellectual Property Law Center.

Ms. Kjos is licensed to practice in Minnesota, and is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association, Minnesota Women Lawyers, and the American Bar Association.  She currently serves on the Board of Directors for The Duluth Playhouse.  Ms. Kjos is published in the William Mitchell Intellectual Property Law Review, Cybaris with her article, “The Statutory Damages Regime of Copyright Law: The Non-Commercial User and Capitol Records, Inc. v. Thomas-Rasset”, and has contributed to articles on the topics of foreclosures and real estate law for the William Mitchell Law Review, and internet law for The Business Lawyer.  Ms. Kjos joined Hanft Fride as a law clerk in 2010 and as an associate in 2011.
