John D. Kelly

Mr. Kelly has over 30 years of experience as a trial lawyer, representing insurers, individuals, and corporate clients in tort actions and commercial disputes, professional liability, contract, employment, and personal injury matters. Mr. Kelly is a frequent instructor in trial advocacy programs for other attorneys.

Mr. Kelly received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard University and his J.D. cum laude from the University of Minnesota. He was admitted to the Minnesota Bar in 1974 and to the Wisconsin Bar in 1985. He is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota, and the United States Circuit Court of Appeals, Eight Circuit.

Mr. Kelly served on the Minnesota State Board of Law Examiners for 4 years, and as President for 11 years. He is a member of the Minnesota and Wisconsin Bar Association, the International Association of Defense Counsel, and the American Board of Trial Advocates. Mr. Kelly has been listed for more than 10 years, in the "The Best Lawyers in America" for his work in the area of professional malpractice, and has been recognized repeatedly as a "Super Lawyer" in Minnesota Law & Politics' annual survey and was named as Minnesota Attorney of the Year for 2003. Mr. Kelly is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
